Netball Queensland and the Queensland State Netball Centre can confirm three new beverage partners today, ahead of the first major event to take place at the centre this weekend.
Lion, Coca Cola Amatil and Merlo Coffee will be ready to serve thousands of patrons set to descend on the venue this weekend for its first major event, the Suncorp Super Netball #TeamGirls Cup.
Lion, one of Australasia’s biggest food and beverage companies, has a proud history dating back to the 1800’s. David Bruhn, Lion Sponsorship and Events Leader was thrilled to share the news of the new partnership.
“Lion is proud to add to its long history of supporting sport at all levels in Queensland by partnering with the new netball stadium.”
Lion have also announced Hahn beer as the lead brand for the venue, along with becoming the official beer of the Lorna Jane Queensland Firebirds.
“Hahn is excited about this partnership with the Firebirds,”
“Known for its pioneering spirit, passion for innovation, and determination to brew the best beer possible – Hahn is the perfect brand to partner with the new, state-of-the-art facility,” Bruhn said.
Coca Cola Amatil, a long-time partner of Netball Queensland will extend its relationship, by becoming the official supplier of non-alcoholic beverages for the venue, along with the introduction of an innovative viewing deck, the Mount Franklin Terrace.
This exciting new activation space will amplify the fan experience, will be elevated above the show court, and will provide an exclusive birds-eye view of the Lorna Jane Queensland Firebirds home matches.
“Amatil has been a proud partner of Netball Queensland for many years and we love the connection with grassroots netball and the awesome Queensland Firebirds. 2019 will see our support extend to the new HART Sapphire Series, and we can’t wait to experience the excitement of the new Queensland State Netball Centre,” said CCA Sponsorship Manager Dominic Ovenden.
Also jumping on board, Queensland’s own coffee giant Merlo will be brewing its delicious blends at “The Feathers” venue café, open every day from 8am – 2pm. Feathers is conveniently positioned on the QSNC concourse, adjacent to Brisbane’s biggest park n ride facility.
“At Merlo Coffee, we are proud of our Queensland heritage and have a very large and diverse customer base with a lot of those being female – and even more specifically, those who love and support netball,” said Anna Kerwick, Merlo Head of Marketing.
“Partnering with Netball Queensland is such a great opportunity for us – it’s a great way for us to support the female sporting community and a perfect synergy of two great Queensland enterprises.”
Merlo also will assume the status of official coffee of Netball Queensland and the Lorna Jane Queensland Firebirds, supporting the Firebirds membership program.
These partnerships will not only serve patrons on game day, but the growing community of workers, athletes and commuters that visit the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre precinct daily.
Netball Queensland General Manager of Commercial Justin White is pleased to have secured world class partners to the centre.
“These new partnerships are reflective of this world-class brand-new facility. The Queensland State Netball Centre is more than just a place for netball, it’s a place for everyone, whether it’s to watch the mighty Firebirds, an exciting music event, play social netball or even just to sit and work whilst enjoying a great coffee and free Wi-Fi. We are thrilled to be able to align our brands as we strive to create a world class experience for every patron that comes through these doors,” White said.
